Father Daughter REALTOR® Team
Our dream has always been to find a way to work together. Home Building was never Jessica's forte and Event Planning was never meant for Mike, but fortunately, our dream has come true working together as one of the only Father Daughter REALTOR® Teams supporting the Charlottesville, VA area.

Mike Gaffney
I'm Mike Gaffney, a Realtor® in Charlottesville, VA. Having moved to this area in 1981, I’m proud to call it home after more than 40 years. Over the course of my 30-year career as a home builder, I’ve had the privilege of building more than 350 homes, ranging from luxury condos and townhouses to custom homes valued over $2 million. Among the many accolades I’ve received, I’m particularly honored to have been named America’s Best Builder by the NAHB and Builder Magazine in 2007.
My mission has always been simple: to make Charlottesville the best place to live. To that end, I’ve been actively involved in local organizations and have served as Chair of the Blue Ridge Homebuilders, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Chamber of Commerce, and The Paramount Theater. I was also recognized with the Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Award in 2002.
In 2003, I was appointed by the City and County to chair the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority, where I played a key role in creating and implementing a Community Water Supply Plan in response to the 2002 drought. This initiative was vital, as we were on the brink of running out of water. In 2012, I was honored to receive the Paul Goodloe McIntyre Citizenship Award for my leadership in completing the Community Water Supply Plan and expanding the Ragged Mountain Reservoir. Today, I am in my 21st year as Chairman of both the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority and the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority.
A lifelong fan of UVA sports, I hold season tickets for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and softball. To further my connection to the University of Virginia, I earned my MBA from UVA’s Darden School of Business in 2008.
In my free time, I’m an avid runner, having completed over 15 marathons, including five in Boston. I also enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, rafting, and, of course, exploring local wineries.
On the family front, my wife Lise works as a Transformational Leader at GE Renewable Energy, my son Brian is part of UVA Health Care, and my daughter Jessica works alongside me as a Realtor®.

Jessica Gaffney Saadut
I was born and raised in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area, and I have fond memories of growing up in Earlysville on the north side of town. As a child, I spent countless hours playing in the creek and hiking the trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which sparked my deep connection to this beautiful community.
My father, Mike Gaffney, was a custom home builder, and my brother and I were fortunate to visit many construction sites as they took shape. We loved exploring foundations and walking through homes as they were being framed, always imagining what it would be like to live in each one. From choosing our future bedrooms to envisioning the finished details, each house was an adventure. It was through these experiences that I learned how the different elements—framing, plumbing, electrical work, insulation, drywall, and paint—came together to create a beautiful home.
After graduating from Christopher Newport University (Hello, Beach!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, I went on to earn my Master’s in Media and Communications at Ohio University (Hello, Mountains!). I returned to Charlottesville and spent the next five years in the restaurant and service industry, followed by eight years in event planning. In each of these roles, the Charlottesville community was always at the heart of what I did, which naturally led me to pursue a career in real estate.
My goal is to provide reliable and informative guidance to my clients, grounded in honesty and integrity—values I’ve learned from my wonderful role models, my parents. I feel incredibly fortunate that my diverse background has uniquely prepared me to offer an exceptional real estate experience to both buyers and sellers.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, reading, hiking, and spending time at the beach. My husband and I live in Charlottesville, where we are raising our two spirited daughters and feel grateful every day to call this place home.
