Our dream has always been to find a way to work together. Home Building was never Jessica's forte and Event Planning was never meant for Mike, but fortunately, our dream has come true working together as one of the only Father Daughter REALTOR® Teams supporting the Charlottesville, VA area.

Mike Gaffney
I’m Mike Gaffney, a Realtor in Charlottesville, VA. I moved to this area in 1981 and am proud to call it home for more than 40 years. During my 30 year career as a home builder, I built more than 350 homes ranging from luxury condos and townhouses to $2m+ custom homes. In addition to other awards, I am proud to have received the America’s Best Builder Award from the NAHB and Builder Magazine in 2007.
My goal has always been “to help make Charlottesville be the best place to live”. In working towards this I have been involved in many local organizations and have been Chair of the Board of the Blue Ridge Homebuilders, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Chamber of Commerce, and The Paramount Theatre. I was recognized in 2002 with the Small Business Award from the Chamber of Commerce.
In 2003, I was appointed by the City and County to Chair the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority to help our community create and implement a Community Water Supply Plan to address the Drought of 2002 and the fact that we almost ran out of water. In 2012, I received the Paul Goodloe McIntyre Citizenship Award which “recognizes outstanding citizen contributions to our Greater Charlottesville Area. This was in recognition of guiding our community to the completion of the Community Water Supply Plan and the Ragged Mt Reservoir expansion. I am currently in my 21st year as chairman of both the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority and the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority.
I have always been an avid fan of UVA Sports and have season’s tickets for football, men’s and women’s basketball and softball. To boost my connection to the University of Virginia, I earned an MBA from UVA’s Darden School in 2008.
I’ve been an avid runner, running more than 15 marathons including Boston 5 times and love to bike, hike, ski raft and, of course, visit the local wineries. My wife Lise works as a Transformational Leader for GE Renewable Energy, my son, Brian works in UVA Health Care and my daughter Jessica works with me as a Realtor.

Jessica Gaffney Saadut
I was born and raised in the Charlottesville Albemarle area. Growing up, I lived in Earlysville on the North side of town. I have many happy memories of playing in the creek and hiking the trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
My father, Mike Gaffney, built custom homes and my brother and I were lucky enough to visit many building sites, exploring foundations and houses as they were framed. We always imagined ourselves living in each one, choosing our bedrooms and picturing what the finished house would be like. Each one was an adventure for us and we learned how all the parts – framing, plumbing, electric, insulation, drywall, painting – came together to create a beautiful finished home.
I graduated from Christopher Newport University (Hello Beach!) with a Bachelors degree in Communications and went on to earn my Masters degree in Media and Communications at Ohio University (Hello Mountains!). I returned to Charlottesville, spending the next 5 years in the restaurant and service industry, then 8 years in event planning. The Charlottesville Community was always at the heart of each of these fields and holds a special place in my heart. This led me naturally into the Real Estate field.
My goal is to always provide reliable, informative guidance to my clients. Honesty and integrity are important assets that I value highly, and fortunately I’ve had excellent role models in my parents. It truly feels that all roads have led me here and that my background has been an excellent preparation for providing the best real estate experience to my clients – both buyers and sellers.
I enjoy running, reading, hiking, going to the beach and getting together with friends. My husband and I live in Charlottesville and love raising our two spirited daughters here.
